“Glorious” isn’t suitable for majority of women, after all.

Based on the recent Social Weather Stations’ survey, Filipino women are not too keen on dating someone 10 years younger than them.

The survey revealed that 46 percent of female respondents said they were “definitely not willing” to date someone 10 years younger than them.

In contrast, male respondents appeared to be more open-minded about being the older person in the relationship, with 29 percent saying they were “definitely willing” and 19 percent they were “somewhat willing” to have a relationship with someone 10 years younger.

The survey also showed that men are open to the idea of being with someone older than them. Twenty five percent of the male respondents said they were “definitely willing” to have a relationship with someone 10 years older while 18 percent said they were “somewhat willing.”

However, the female respondents appeared even more likely to date someone a decade older. Thirty (30) percent said they were “definitely willing” to be with someone 10 years older while 24 percent said they were “somewhat willing.”

When respondents were asked if a couple’s age gap matters in a relationship, the respondents were almost evenly split, with 33 percent saying it “definitely matters” and 17 percent saying it “somewhat matters.”

But 28 percent of the people surveyed believe it “definitely does not matter” and 13 percent said it “somewhat does not matter.”

Most of the respondents also expressed their satisfaction with their current romantic state, with 53 percent of the men and 50 percent of the women saying they were “very happy” with their romantic partners.

Those who are happiest are married, with 64 percent married men saying they were extremely happy and 59 percent married women reporting feeling the same thing.

There are apparently also more single women than there are single men. Fifty-nine (59) percent of the women surveyed said they were single while only 43 percent of the men said they were.

Exactly 1,440 adults based in Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were interviewed face-to-face for the SWS survey, which was conducted from Dec. 16 to 19, 2018.
