THE Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP UAE) was recognized as Best Foreign Chapter 2018 by the IECEP National, which recognition was given at the 68th Annual General Membership Meeting (AGM) and Convention, late last year, at Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines.

The citation of the award and its implication was echoed and highlighted at the 10th AGM and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the chapter, held just recently at the Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, where some 100 members attended.

IECEP UAE president and chairman of the board, Engr. Louie Mel C. Maliksi was pleased to present the plaque of recognition at the gathering as one of the major achievements of IECEP UAE for 2018. 

Among other accomplishments of the chapter were raising the passing rate of the SPLE passers for electronics engineers to 50 percent.

In addition to the recent accolade received, its founding president and adviser, Engr. Jethroefel E. Ramboyong, was chosen by the Philippines Regulations Commission as 2018 Outstanding Electronics Engineer, which was awarded to him in Manila.

Outstanding members of committees and the newly registered ACPE and ASEAN Engineers were also given recognition at the affair.

The general assembly was also intended to host theoath-takings of the newly-passed professional electronics engineers, electronics engineers and electronics technicians, who swore before Enrico Claro R. Delmoro, member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering, in the presence of Philippine Embassy’s Vice Consul Von Ryan Pangwi.

Technical sessions were integrated in the AGM as continuing professional development endeavour of the organization for members to benefit.

Topics were on Broadcast Projects Processes presented by Engr. Armando Ramos and Network Video by Engr. Randy Domingo.

The conclusion of the event was the election for the 2019 Set of officers that was spearheaded by immediate past president Engr. Analiza T. Binondo.
